CommentsHi! My name is Mikael Klein, a IPA-member and Police Sgt in Jönköpings PD, situated in the south part of Sweden. I have always been interested in negotiation inside the police work. I work in a local swat-group and today we don’t have any local Hostage Negotiation Team, only a central team, located in Stockholm. Today, there is no education in negotiation in the Swedish police. For that reason, on one's own initiative, I investigate if I can find any educationmaterial in USA or in other European Police authorities (but I think USA are best in this subject area). I have earlier received a few video-films from USA but, they are old and I need more. I would be grateful if you have some tip-offs were I could find video- or other documents, which takes up the matter of Police-negotiation. Yours sincerely Mikael Klein Sgt

CommentsSubject: Study visit to New York Dear Sir, I am currently attending the Superior Executive Training Course of the Danish Police which aims at training leaders to attend to the superior leadership functions. During this training course the participants are expected to make a study visit in order to gain a measure of insight into leadership procedures and development procedures in other organisations. Therefore, I kindly ask that I may be allowed to visit the Police in New York in order to study which problems arose after the 11th September 2001 in connection with the World Trade Centre - especially concerning securing of clues from the offenders, who were killed, as well as search of remains and DNA from the victims. I am particularly interested in the problems concerning DNA securing in connection with blood samples from relatives, who believe they have unidentified relatives among the victims. If convenient, I would like to come to New York from 16th February 2003 to 22th February 2003. If you have the possibility to afford the time for 1 or 2 days I would be very pleased. However, if you are not able to assist me I would be grateful if you could forward the name of another contact person who may help me. reply direktly to eskild-bossen@get2net.dk Private telefone number: 01145-74540082 Yours sincerely On behalf of Detective Chief Inspector, Eskild Bossen, of the Danish Police.
